Oaklandish is a fashion line and retail store located in Oakland, California in the United States. In 2011 it was voted the best clothing designer in the East Bay by the readers of the East Bay Express.[1]

The fashion line was started in 2000.[2] It is owned by Angela Tsay. Tsay makes no money off of the line and takes no salary. The goal of the line is to help with the rebranding of Oakland, which is known for a high crime rate, which gives it a bad reputation among outsiders. The line features t-shirts and hoodies showcasing symbols of Oakland, such as the Golden State Warriors and Raiders logos, redwood trees and the MacArthur Maze. The company logo is a modified version of the city logo, an Oak tree with wide outspread roots.[3] Everything sold in the store is made in the United States.[2] From 2003 to 2005 they sold their items at a gallery space in Jack London Square. The space closed and Oaklandish turned to the internet to sell their wares.[4] In 2011, Oaklandish opened their first retail store in Downtown Oakland.[3][5] Krazy George Henderson and Jean Quan are customers of the store.[3][6] That year, they also introduced a new brand of t-shirts representing cities across the country.[4] In 2012 they partnered with Town Park, skate park in Oakland, to create skateboards.[7] 10% of proceeds from the sales of Oaklandish items goes to charity.[4][2] They sell their clothing in a bus that visits farmers markets in the area.[2] Every year they award the "Oakland Innovators Award," which is a grant making program.[2]
