Mario Rosa (Napoli 1932) is an italian historian.

Biography

He has studied at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. He has taught early modern history at the Universities of Lecce, Bari, Pisa, La Sapienza of Rome and finally at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, where he served also as deputy-director et where he is actually emeritus.

He has taught also as professeur invité at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris.

He is of the Accademia nazionale dei Lincei.

Mario Rosa's researches have concerned the religious history of the XVIIIth century, the ecclesiastical, cultural and religious history between XVIth and XVIIth centuries, the history of science, Academias and Libraries.
