Gabriel Appelt Pires (born 18 September 1993) is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Pro Vercelli, on loan from Juventus.
Biography
Resende
Gabriel and older brother Guilherme Appelt Pires started their careers at Resende; Gabriel signed his first contract in July 2010.[1] Gabriel played his first senior season in 2011 Campeonato Carioca, the regional league of Rio state.[2]
Juventus
Tuttosport reported that Juve signed the brothers in April 2011,[3] however due to bureatic reasons, Gabriel couldn't move to Italy until after his 18th birthday. In January 2012 Gabriel officially signed with Italian Serie A club Juventus for a fee of €2 million.[4]
Gabriel played half-season for Juventus' reserve in 2011–12 season.[5] In late August 2012 Gabriel left for another Piedmont team, Serie B newcomer Pro Vercelli in temporary deal,[6] along with Alberto Masi. He made his Serie B debut on 9 September 2012 as substitute[7] and started on 15 September against Sassuolo.[8]
