Merger proposal

4 different articles regarding transit infrastructure at, around, or named York University could easily be merged here into this article. These articles are:

  • York University GO Station
  • York University (TTC)
  • York University (YRT)
  • York University Busway

One article would be of a good size and bring all in one place for the reader to find. It is presumable that the reader is searching for "bus station" or the like. This will easily allow for one easy to find article on a single topic by bringing 4 articles into 1. Outback the koala (talk) 21:06, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Here's why:

  • The York University Busway article can probably go away after the station opens as it can be mentioned in a section of the Subway Station's article that kills one article.
  • There is precedence for GO Stations and TTC stations having their own articles See Kipling GO Station and Kipling (TTC) as just one example
  • There could be an argument made for merging York University (YRT) content into the TTC station article as has been done with the TTC Station articles for Finch, Downsview, Don Mills etc.

This article itself (Transit infrastructure at York University) should be a section in the main article for York University. I agree that some changes should be made but merging the four articles into one article that breaks established conventions for TTC and GO stations would not be an improvement to those overall clusters of articles.
