The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, or AMDA, is a school for the performing arts located in Manhattan, New York City, New York. The school is a non-degree-granting university institution with stringent auditions for admittance. Located in the Ansonia hotel on Broadway, it heralds participation from many great performing arts specialists as instructors, and teaches two programs: integrated (dance/voice/theater) and non-integrated (theater.) Among it's most famous alum:

Tyne Daily (Cagney and Lacey, Judging Amy)
Gretchen Mol (Cradle Will Rock, Spin City)
Paul Sorvino (Bulworth, Law & Order)
Angela Bettis (Girl, Interrupted, Bless the Child)
Natalie Zea (Passions, Boys Don't Cry)

Alum who attended the university but did not complete the two year program include Christian Slater, Brad Pitt, and Easter Bradford.
