Parts Per Billion is an upcoming film.[1] The film tells the story of three couples dealing with a reality-shaking event that threatens to tear them apart. The film is based on a screenplay by Brian Horiouchi, who also serves as the director.[1] It is scheduled for release in 2014. [2]
Premise
The plot consists of the interwoven stories of three couples who are forced to make life-altering decisions in the face of a disastrous war. Inspired and sometimes blinded by their love, Len (Josh Hartnett), Mia (Rosario Dawson), Andy (Frank Langella), Esther (Gena Rowlands), Anna (Teresa Palmer) and Erik (Penn Badgley) are as flawed and beautiful as any of the billions who are facing this human-made biological disaster.

Casting
In 2008, it was announced that Olivia Thirby, Robert Pattinson and Dennis Hopper had been cast in the film, with shooting expected to begin within a month.[3] However, conflicting shooting schedules with another film; The Twilight Saga: New Moon forced Pattinson to drop out in early 2009[4] In Dec 12, 2012, AKA/Bow Street Films announced that Teresa Palmer, Penn Badgley, Hill Harper and Alexis Bledel had joined the cast for the film, with shooting scheduled begin in Detroit and last all through Christmas.[2] Also announced as cast members were Gena Rowlands, Frank Langella, Josh Hartnett, Mlly Hassell, and Jennifer Levine. Joe Jenckes and Rosario were revealed as executive producers. [2]
