Maedhros

Maedhros the Tall was the eldest of the Sons of Feanor. He was cursed the moment he swore the Oath of Feanor, but nevertheless he was one of only two of them to live past the War of Wrath. At that time he inherited a Silmaril but his questionable deeds during the War of the Jewels caused the Silmaril to burn him. At the last he cast himself into a fiery chasm in shame, taking the Silmaril with him.
