Modular buildings are sectional prefabricated buildings that are manufactured in a plant. The advantages to modular buildings is that production can take place at the same time that site and utility work takes place cutting down considerably the time it takes to occupy a property.

Modular buildings are unique from mobile offices in that they are usually multi unit and custom built to a clients specifications. They generally meet or exceed all local and state codes. A modular building is sometimes also referred to as a portable building but generally is installed on a more permanent basis than the more temporary portable classroom buildings.
