To-Do List

Here's a suggested starting list of items to improve this article:

Pictures - need pictures for more model years. I added the 1970 factory promo photo a while back, and I think it passes muster for Fair Use. If so, I think that factory promo photo's are preferable to "homemade" photos. However, homemade photos are certainly better than nothing at all. Can anyone who is Wiki-wise comment on fair use of Oldsmobile promo photo's?

Option Pricing - for years when it was the W-29 option insert the MSRP. For years when it was it's own model, calculate the approximate increased MSRP of the 442 over a base model. Lrh442 17:13, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Trivia Sections

The sections on 442's in Song and in Movies are trivia and add nothing of substance to the article. In fact, several of the references are to Cutlasses, and not even 442's. Since Wikipedia policy discourages the use of trivia lists (WP:TRIVIA), I marked these sections with the Trivia tag. No one has commented in the last month since these tags were applied. I propose to delete these sections. If there is disagreement, please comment here on the discussion page. Lrh442 15:53, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree: I don't think the section is "trivia", or covered by the Wikipedia trivia policy. It attempts to be a comprehensive resource of information on a specific topic, and a list is the best way of presenting that info. To delete it would remove useful information from the article. Thanks for the response. I was beginning to think no one ever looked at the discussion page. I think that 442's on Film is better located at the existing "Internet Movie Cars Database" link. How about we keep that link rather than make duplicate entries here? At the very least, wouldn't you agree that citations for non-442's should be removed (for obvious reasons). Also, I think that the 442's in Song section kind of dumbs-down the rest of the article. I don't think that obscure pop-culture references to 442's are an important part of 442 history. If Ronnie and the Daytona's had taken "Little 442" to the top 10 on the charts instead of "Little GTO", maybe it would be relevant. Maybe. Just a little.  ;-) Lrh442 18:05, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The lists might seem "funny" or "trivial" because the entries won no awards or "Top Ten" placements. I'm sorry that the 442 apparently didn't get more prominent mentions in movies or songs, but that's the way it is. Speaking as a reader, I knew something about 442's before I read the page, but I didn't know about their movie or song appearances. Now I do, and I'm glad somebody took the time to compile those lists. With the greatest respect, I think the lists should stay and the "Trivia" tags should be removed, and I'm going to do that in order to see if anybody else raises this issue independently. Car prices never shown

Car prices should be told on all car model wiki pages.--76.92.112.44 (talk) 06:24, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
