The Center for Sex and Culture or CSC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in San Francisco, California. It serves as a community center, library, and gallery space, and is home to the annual San Francisco Masturbate-a-thon event.

The organization was founded in 1994 by Carol Queen and Robert Morgan Lawrence.

Mission and Vision

The mission of the Center for Sex & Culture is "to provide judgment-free education, cultural events, a library/media archive, and other resources to audiences across the sexual and gender spectrum; and to research and disseminate factual information, framing and informing issues of public policy and public health."

Library and Archive

Sustained by donations from patrons and staff, the Center for Sex and Culture Library and Archive's collection includes over 6000 books. The collection includes graduate and undergraduate dissertations, erotic pulp fiction, sex education textbooks, and HIV/AIDS education materials.
