Brosix is an Instant Messaging service for personal and professional use.[2] Headquartered in Plodiv, Bulgaria, Brosix is led by Chief Executive Officer, Stefan Chekanov.[2][3]

History

Founded in 2006, Brosix was started by Stefan Chekanov and his partner Svetoslav Chekanov.[3] The company expanded to ten people in the office and fifteen contractors.[2] In 2013, Brosix released Multi-Protocol IM, a feature connecting users with external instant messaging networks including AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, Google Talk, MSN, Facebook, and Jabber.[4][5][6]

Product

Brosix serves individuals and private organizations.[2][3] Brosix provides several features for personal use including text-chat, file transfer, screen sharing, screen shot, whiteboard, voice calls, video calls, offline text messaging, chat history, co-browsing, automatic updates and user status.[3] The company also provides an Enterprise Instant Messenger service for private companies to create closed Instant Messaging applications.[2][3] The Brosix Enterprise service provides companies with their own networks to control employee communication.[2] Brosix Enterprise allows companies to control collaborative features including user contact lists, user activity logs, welcome module, custom logo, import-export users, private networks, and installation.[3] Brosix is a cloud service, offering a secure communication network and web-based control panel for IM network oversight.[2] The service is based on monthly subscriptions and operates on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android as well as through a Web Client for any browser.[2][3] Brosix also provides companies with services including upgrades, maintenance, running servers, and providing infrastructure.[2] The company is trademarked in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Bulgaria, and Japan.[2]

• In 2012, About.com Reader’s Choice awarded Brosix 1st place in Best Enterprise IM, 2nd place in Best Mac IM, and 2nd place in Best Android IM.[2][3] • In the 2011 About.com Best IM awards, Brosix earned Best Business IM, 2nd place in Best IM client for Mac, and Brosix screen sharing won Best IM Feature.[2][3] • In 2010, Brosix won Best IM Feature for Brosix Screenshot from About.com.[2][3] • In 2009, the About.com reader competition voted Brosix 2nd in Most Improved IM Client. (IU) Also in 2009, the Brosix team was named Developers of the Year and the Whiteboard feature received 1st place for Best IM Feature. (IU) Brosix was in the top three for Best IM Client and Best Third-Party IM Client.[2][3]
