Shannon Guess (born Shannon Rogers on August 31, 1977)[8] is an American actress.

She is also mentioned frequently in the media as Shannon Richardson, using her third husband's family name. She is known for her minor roles in The Walking Dead and The Vampire Diaries and for her alleged involvement in ricin letters sent to President Barack Obama.[9]

Career

Guess is an actress with small roles on television shows such as The Vampire Diaries, Franklin and Bash and The Walking Dead.[2][10][11]

Personal life

Guess has been married three times[3], since October 8, 2011 to Nathan Richardson, a U.S. Army veteran who works as a mechanic in a military depot. [12] Also in 2011, Shannon donated bone marrow to save a young girl with leukemia.[13][13]

In May 2013, while going through a divorce with Richardson, Guess called the police and made the accusation that Richardson had mailed ricin to politicians.[3][14]

As of June 1, 2013, Nathan Richardson has not been charged with any crime.[15][3][16] Richardson told investigators that Guess set him up.[17] Investigators found that Shannon Richardson mailed the ricin herself, in an effort to set up her estranged husband.[18][19][20]

Guess has five sons, ranging in age from 4 to 19;[21] none of them fathered by Richardson.[14][21] As of June 2013, Guess is also reported to be pregnant.[22] Her oldest son, 19-year-old[23] Branden Guess, said that his mother was paranoid that she was being poisoned with ricin by her current husband.[23]

Guess was arrested on June 7, 2013 for alleged connections with ricin laced letters to politicians including President Barack Obama and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.[24][25] On June 7, 2013, Guess was charged with "mailing a threatening letter to President Barack Obama."[26][27] On June 8, 2013, Shannon Richardson confessed that she had mailed the three letters, knowing they contained ricin.[28]

Guess lives in New Boston, Texas.[29][19]
