Publication history
Doctor Decibel first appeared in Squadron Supreme #5 (January 1986), and was created by Mark Gruenwald.
The character subsequently appears in Squadron Supreme #6-10 (February–June 1986).
Doctor Decibel appeared as part of the "Squadron Supreme" entry in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition #12.
Fictional character biography
Doctor Decibel was a criminal surgeon working for the Institute of Evil, and he performed the operation on Lady Lark that endowed her with hypersonic vocal cords.[volume & issue needed] Like the rest of the Institute members, he was defeated by the Squadron Supreme and behavior modified and elected to full membership in the Squadron.[volume & issue needed]
Doctor Decibel was killed when he suffocated in Quagmire's extradimensional slime.[volume & issue needed]
Powers and abilities
Doctor Decibel carried a device capable of transmitting 300 deciBels of sonic energy.
