My name is Todd Patrick Marek. I am a graduate student studying Linguistic Anthropology. I am fascinated by language use and have a special interest in the Tibetan languages, the Slavonic languages, Sanskrit, the Germanic languages, Finnish, and Gaelige.

I have previously completed a BA in anthropology, and the 4 year Tibetan Medicine (གསོ་བ་རིག་པ་) program at the Shang Shung Institute of America. In addition to medical studies, the curriculum there included a study of Tibetan language (བོད་སྐད་), including Classical Tibetan (ཆོས་སྐད་) , Modern Standard Tibetan (དེང་རབས་བོད་ཀྱི་སྤྱི་སྐད་), and Amdo Tibetan (ཨ་མདོ་སྐད་). Related interests are Bauddhadharma, in particular Indo-Tibetan Vajrayāna and Sarvāstivāda Abhidharma; Āyurveda; Indian Yoga systems; and the history of Buddhism (specifically the the migration of the Mahāyāna from India to other social contexts).

I am a native English speaker, and can interact in Tibetan, Slovak, German, Japanese, and Mandarin with varying degrees of proficiency.
