The Office of National Emergency, commonly referred to as O*N*E, is a fictional government agency in the Marvel Universe. It is known as the originator of the Sentinel squads that were assigned to protect/observe the X-Men and the remaining mutants after the event known as M-Day, which reduced the number of mutants on Earth to only a few hundred.[1]
The Sentinels employed by O*N*E are Mark VIII models which, unlike most, require pilots. At one point, the X-Men battle and defeat the piloted machines.[2]
The O*N*E group is featured when several members of the New X-Men squad are dragged into the supernatural realm known as Limbo. Operative Alexander Lexington is part of a small rescue squad that assists in retrieving the missing children. He works closely with Amanda Sefton, the former ruler of Limbo.[3]
A limited series by John Layman named Sentinel Squad O*N*E spotlighted the original squad.
Members
- Nathaniel Briggs - Bulletproof Briggs is a pilot of a Mark VIII Sentinel. He is killed by Vulcan while trying to take him into custody.[4]
- Valerie Cooper - Cooper is one of the people responsible for creating O*N*E, eventually being named Operations Commander of the program.[5]
- Rajani Dhama - Joni is the pilot of a Mark VIII Sentinel.
- Demetrius Lazer - General Lazer is the former Operations Commander of O*N*E*. He is imprisoned when it is revealed that he is plotting to kill mutants instead of protecting them.[5] He is killed by Johnny Dee.[6]
- Alexander Lexington - Lex is a depowered mutant who pilots a Mark VIII Sentinel. He is seemingly killed when his Sentinel transforms him into something similar to the Sentinel sleeper agents.[2]
- Meld (Jeremiah Muldoon) - Meld is a mutant with the ability to shape and change metal on contact. He pilots a Mark VIII Sentinel. He is killed by Senyaka during Selene's attack on Utopia.[7]
- Micromax (Scott Wright) - Micromax is a mutant with the ability to grow or shrink in size. He is also able shapeshift to an unknown degree. He is presumed to be working for MI-13.[8]
- Randall Nixon - Stilts is the pilot of a Mark VIII Sentinel. He is killed in the Savage Land while fighting Brainchild's enhanced dinosaur army.[9]
- Colonel Miguel Reyes - Reyes is a supervisor in the O*N*E program. He is the brother of Cecilia Reyes.
- James Rhodes - Rhodes was a Direct Command Officer as well as an instructor for O*N*E. He is a member of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Secret Avengers as Iron Patriot.
- Sabra (Ruth Bat-Seraph) - Sabra is a mutant with superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability and agility. She is a member of Mossad, the Israeli Secret Service.
- Tracy Skylark - Sky is the pilot of a Mark VIII Sentinel.
- Jake Slayton - Slayton is the pilot of a Mark VIII who is seemingly killed when his Sentinel transforms him into something similar to the Sentinel sleeper agents.[2]
- John Steele - Steele is the sergeant who leads the Sentinel Squad into the Savage Land. He is killed there while fighting Brainchild's enhanced dinosaur army.[9]
- Emil Winston - Professor is the pilot of a Mark VIII Sentinel, but is transferred to the Research and Design Division of O*N*E.[10]
