EatOut is a company that offers an online restaurant guide and a restaurant reservations service in Kenya.[1] The online restaurant guide provides menus, reviews, virtual tours, offers, and event information for consumers.[2] EatOut was founded in September 2009 by Mikul Shah.[3] Mikul is also the co-founder of SleepOut.com along with Johann Jenson.[4] EatOut is owned by Websimba Ltd and is also known as Eat Out Kenya.

Partnerships

In October 2012, Wazi WiFi, Google, and EatOut partnered to encourage restaurants to offer Wazi WiFi hotspots.[5]

EatOut also partnered with Safaricom and Kopo Kopo in April 2013 to encourage more restaurants to accept M-Pesa as a payment method.[6]

Investors

Africa Media Venture Fund (AMVF), a Dutch venture fund focused on tech-based media companies, invested in EatOut in July 2012 and holds a minority stake in the company.[7]
