The Duk Ling is a chinese Junk ship operating in Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong.

History

The Duk Ling was built in Macau around 1950-60, and was subsequently used as a fishing boat. In 1985 it changed ownership, and underwent 3 years of restoration back to its original design. It is now owned by Detours Limited, who are in turn owned by China Pub Company HK Ltd. It has a capacity of 30 passengers in addition to the crew.[1]

Current use

The Duk Ling is used as a charter ship. It is chartered by the Hong Kong Tourism Board for two days a week, who use it for journeys to Hong Kong,[1] which are only available to tourists. Although sailings were initially available for free, they now have standard set fares.[2]
