Naming convention
I've proposed a standard form for naming articles on Ohio school districts: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Ohio school districts), which could easily be extended to apply to districts in other states. I'd welcome some feedback on this. PedanticallySpeaking 16:47, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
2002-03 Statistics
The 2002-03 statistics are here, from the U.S. Department of Education. In their list, they include the Puerto Rico Department of Education, which is the third-largest school district and bumps everyone from #3 onward on this list down one spot. --Kitch 11:56, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
2003-04 Statistics
The U.S. DOE now has 2003-04 statistics here. This table features 2003-04 enrollment, and orders the top 100 districts (not including Puerto Rico) by enrollment as of Fall 2003. --Kitch 14:55, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
2004-05 Statistics
The U.S. DOE now has 2004-05 statistics [1]. This table features 2004-05 enrollment, and orders the top 100 districts (not including Puerto Rico) by enrollment as of Fall 2004. --Kitch (Talk : Contrib) 13:51, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- I just updated the table with those statistics, however I did not fill in the Metro Area column simply because of the amount of work involved. Anyone should feel free to add it back in. Eóin 23:01, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Need to update...
Well, this header pretty much explains my sentiments. Basically, many schools have risen or fallen since 2006, so here's where I've started collecting (most sites will access several years of data for all districts). Once I find 2006 data for all states of the expected Largest 100, I'll update with what I have. Of the current Large 100, 72 school districts' 2007 data has been found from the below 12 web sites. I'll assume that any district within 10% of Proximity's Top 100 should be checked for 2006 Large 100 qualification...
- Haha, nvrmd, I never read WP:Research. But I did update (it's just a short time after Proximity, since New Orleans is now gone from the largest 500 school districts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Collegebookworm (talk • contribs) 02:41, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
WHYYYY!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!????? If you were me, would you also hate knowing your school district makes #101 on this list?---Collegebookworm (talk) 04:35, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Even more updates...
Well I was doing some research and I found out that the School District of Palm Beach Co. surpassed Orange County Public Schools (FL). In addition on the Wikipedia pages of Palm Beach County School District it states it is the 11th largest in the US and on the Orange County Public Schools page it states they are the 12th largest in the US, so can somebody please edit this for me, thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by R3445v (talk • contribs) 04:04, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
New data is available
The following website has the most recent data that could be used to update this list. http://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/d11/tables/dt11_097.asp If I were more Wikipedia savvy I would make the updates myself, but I have never undertaken a project this large on Wikipedia before.
