Jamie Moriarty

Jamie Moriarty (born March 26, 1981) is an American bobsledder who has competed since 2006. His best World Cup finish was second in a four-man event at Lake Placid, New York on 22 November 2009.

It was announced on 17 January 2010 that Moriarty made the US team in the four-man event for the 2010 Winter Olympics where he finished 13th. Jamie will be in the four-man USA III sled along with teammates Bill Schuffenhauer, Nick Cunningham and Mike Kohn. Prior to qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics, Jamie trained with TCBoost, a speed and performance firm that has trained a number of successful professional and college athletes. He is said to have collaborated on the bobsled movie, 'Cool Runnings' (1993).

College

Moriarty graduated in 2003 from Cornell University with a degree in hotel and restaurant management. He played safety on the Cornell Big Red football team where he had 152 tackles and six interceptions over three seasons.

Moriarty co-founded the Uber Dispensing Company with two Cornell friends and a Vanderbilt University graduate. The company produces the UberTap, a hands-free three-sprout keg tap. One of the other co-founders, Douglas Murray Cornell '03, also participated in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, as a member of Sweden's ice hockey team.

Family

His wife's name is Nicole.

He has four family members who played in the National Football League. His father, Tom played for the Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers. His uncle, Pat played for the Browns and is the Baltimore Ravens’ vice president of football administration. His uncle Frank played for the Denver Broncos. His uncle Larry played running back for the Houston Oilers and Kansas City Chiefs for seven seasons, scoring 13 touchdowns.
