Mobile Trauma Bay
A Mobile Trauma Bay (MTB) is a containerized ambulance bay mounted on a Logistics Vehicle System Replacement LVSR. [1] [2] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4AUTWcAhpo)
The MTB consists of state-of-the-art medical equipment and carries one doctor, a nurse and three corpsmen. [3] The trauma team provides advanced resuscitative care to critically-injured service members within the "Golden Hour" – the first hour after a traumatic injury.[4] More than 98% of the wounded Marines who make it into the MTB, make it out alive. [5]

The Mobile Trauma Bay, created by Cmdr. James L. Hancock, director of medical services, Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital, stands completed and ready to ship to Afghanistan for combat testing, August 27.
