Sock puppetry

You seem to be a serious editor, not a vandal, but you are laboring under the delusion that an exception to our rule against sockpuppetry should be made for you. That's not the case. It is totally proper for other editors to note your socking. It is not the responsibility of other editors to figure out your entire contribution history using special tools and tracking down which IPs you have used. That history should be in ONE place for ONE account, whether it's a registered username or a static IP. Using a dynamic IP automatically means you are operating a sock farm and "avoiding the scrutiny of other editors," so solve the problem by registering an account and thus becoming a respectable and above board editor. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. You even get more privacy. There are many rights, privileges, abilities, tools, etc. which you cannot use. They could all be yours. Why stay a second class editor in constant violation of policy, forfeiting the respect you could get with an account? -- Brangifer (talk) 07:19, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
