Saint-François, Laval
Appearance
Saint-François (before Saint-François-de-Sales) is the second largest district of Laval after Duvernay. It was a separate city until the 1965 municipal mergers.
This district is mainly made up of agricultural fields. Located at the extreme East of Jesus island (Laval), it is delimited :
- North-West by the Milles-Iles river;
- South-East by the Prairies river;
- West by the districts of Auteuil
- South by the district of Duvernay.
A residential agglomeration is formed in the south-east of the district. A small conflict takes place between certain people for the construction of a bridge that would be link with Montreal, but the ecologists don't want it because that would destroy a wet microclimate where rare species in Quebec live.
