Hunter Industries is a manufacturer of irrigation equipment for the landscaping and golf course industries,[1] based in San Marcos, California.[2] They have manufacturing facilities in San Marcos and Fresno, California, and Tijuana, Mexico, as well as sales offices in the Australia, Europe, United States, the Middle-East, and China.[3]

Hunter produces pop-up gear-driven rotors, spray sprinklers, valves, controllers, central controllers and weather sensors. The company reports that it holds more than 250 product patents and 40 trademarks.

The company was founded in 1981 by Edwin J. Hunter and Paul M. Hunter, to produce a compact landscape sprinkler called the "PGP" (an acronym meaning "professional gear-driven pop-up"). The current president and CEO is Richard E. Hunter, Edwin’s son. Richard's son, Greg Hunter, is the Chief Operating Officer. Most of the Hunter family is actively involved in the company. In a bid to broaden their product offerings, Hunter purchased FX Lighting and Grizzle & Hunter (renamed Hunter Custom Molding) and has integrated it into their product offerings.
