See SubSpace for the computer game.

Continuum is the primary game client for the computer game SubSpace. Players often use the words SubSpace and Continuum interchangeably.

Continuum was developed by the SubSpace players known as PriitK (Priit Kasesalu, who has also worked on the development of Kazaa and Skype) and Mr Ekted. It is currently said to be the largest Massive Multiplayer Online Player-Run game on the internet. The game hierarchy is broken into Hosts, and then into Zones. Zones are just another word for servers as in other multiplayer games. Trench Wars is the most common Zone played in SubSpace. Trench Wars also belongs to the largest host, SSCU.

Despite the primitive nature of the two-dimensional graphics and the deceptively simple style of play, Continuum has become very successful in attracting new players as well as keeping older players interested.
