POV: Unique view and hefty buy

Whether a fish eye view is unique or not pretty much depends on one's experience. And what is unique anyway? There are dozens of fish eye lenses available.

With regards to hefty buy, it is quite common that a lens is more expensive than the camera. After all, its the item determining image quality and there are lenses in the 100.000 USDs range (killer zooms from Nikon, or the one-off super tele from Zeiss made for this Arab millionaire). SLR Magic spam?

I think SLR Magic is spamming this article. The photo in this article is clearly an advertisement for the SLR Magic lens. That's not the standard lens that comes with the camera. I'd delete the picture, but I don't know how and I don't have a better pic to replace it with. sharonlives (talk) 04:40, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I replaced this picture some time ago (and replaced it again recently). At the time the SLR Magic picture was added to the article, I do not think there were any other freely licensed NEX-5 pictures available. There are a few now, though. decltype (talk) 09:14, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Flash Issues

Am I the only one who noticed that this camera is unable to use any kind of standard flash? It has no shoe, and no synch port. --70.240.79.65 (talk) 13:58, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rename and Generalize

Why is there an entire article for the Sony NEX-5 by itself? What makes it so noteworthy and significant? Instead, there should be a single article for the entire NEX series including all the models in the 3 series, the 5 series and the 7 series. Together, they are noteworthy as being a series of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras that use an APS-C size sensor. Most others MILCs use a smaller sensor. 72.183.247.252 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:13, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I concur, particularly as "NEX-3" redirects to this article without much explanation (I actually arrived at this article looking for NEX-3 information). The article has also become somewhat out of date, as the -3 and -5 model lines seem to have a 6-9 month update cycle. 76.118.1.171 (talk) 19:08, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
