The European Federation of Green Parties[1] is organizationally distinct from Green members of the European Parliament - who are called the Green/EFA block.

The European Federation facilates communication between member parties. At meetings it arrives at shared manifestos for European elections, provides an opportunity for networking and for the meetings of regional groupings, gives support to newer or smaller parties in order to strengthen them. For example, they did work in Spain to unify fragmented and divided groupings in each region, and succeeded to an extent - two regions elected Green MPs to the Spanish Parliament.

At the time of writing (January 2003) the Federation includes 32 Green Parties in 29 European countries.
