Michael Frendo (born 1955) is the foreign minister of Malta since July 2004. He had previously served as deputy foreign minister for three months under John Dalli.

During his graduation ceremony at the University of Malta, he made a speech whereby he argued the importance that graduates distinguish between integrity, hypocrisy, propaganda, sincerity, opportunism, liberty and slavery. The President of the Republic, together with the Minister of Education left the room, and various Malta Labour Party supporters tried to intimidate the crowd.
