I removed the fact of his homosexuality - it's not that I'm trying to censor Wikipedia, I'm just not sure why it would be relevant to his status as a director, let alone important enough to be the 3rd word in the article after his name. if its absolutely necessary that it be included, it should probably be put in later in the article. I know what you mean - I'm gay, and I know that it shouldn't be a major definition of a person. However, I also think that it adds visibility and shows that gay people are everywhere. Let me add that I'm not strongly one way or the other on the issue. Just my thoughts. :-)

I think that soe of his filmography has been left out. I know that Mr. Van Sant directed the music video for Hanson's "Weird" back in 1998. I wouldn't regularly expect to see this under someone's filmography, but there is another music video listed there. Plus it's not a bad video if I do say so myself.

Guy Ritchie section

I am not sure what the connection to Guy Ritchie is. Not sure what "Wall Street cinematography" is. I removed the word "endlessly" from the language of the comparison. SidP 19:43, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Psycho

How can this article be considered useful without mention of his hubristic remake of Psycho, which earned him tons of critical derision? His reputation never recovered from it.
