H. M. Reddy (12 June 1892 - 14 January 1960) who is from Andhra Pradesh [1], produced the first south Indian talkie movie, Bhakta Prahlada. His full name was Hanumappa Muniappa Reddy and he was also referred as HM Reddy. Before making his own productions, he worked as assistant to Ardeshir Irani, creator of the first Indian talkie Alam Ara. He produced successful Telugu movies such as Tenali Ramakrishna, Kalidas and Gruha Lakshmi. He introduced Chittor V. Nagaiah and other artists to the film industry.
