The Writer with No Hands is a 2014 feature-length documentary film about an academic's investigation into the disappearance of Hollywood screenwriter Gary Devore.

Devore disappeared in June 1997. A year later, his car and body were discovered submerged in the California Aqueduct near Palmdale but investigators were uncertain about the events that occurred immediately prior to the apparent crash.[1]
