Bent Corydon
Bent Georg Corydon (born June 11, 1942) in Copenhagen, Denmark is an American author and journalist. Corydon is also entrepreneur for the YMCA Building (Riverside, California), a for profit religious organization in the State of California. Bent Corydon's most notable book to date is L. Ron Hubbard, Messiah or Madman? published in both English and Russian.
Personal
Bent Corydon was born in Denmark, Copenhagen to Ellen Rousing and Christian Thomsen Corydon. The family lived in Aarhus Denmark before moving to New Zealand. In 1950 at the age of eight, Bent with his mother, sister, Birgith and brother, Rene, left Arhus, Denmark and traveled by car to the Port in Göteborg, Gothenberg, Sweden and boarded the Swedish cargo ship, Temnaren. The family stopped in Australia and after six weeks made it to their destination of Auckland, New Zealand.
Education
Corydon attended the Ellerslie School in Auckland, New Zealand and Penrose High School, now known as One Tree Hill College. He spent 5 years at the College, under British Matriculation scholarship with major studies in English Literature, the French language and Arts.
Journalism
Corydon's early authorship began while at the university, for Woman's Weekly Magazine in New Zealand. One article titled, Two Students Shine, involved an art project with a model bust of his English Literature teacher, George Clarhew.
Scientology
While studying at the University, teacher Thomas Morgan introduced Corydon into Scientology. At the age of 17, Corydon joined the organization.
In 1967 at the age of 25, Corydon traveled to the Organization's Saint Hill Manor in England. After two years, Corydon planned to go to the United States as he and his then wife, Mary Corydon were expecting their first child. After his daughter Michele was born, Corydon joined Raymond Kemp's franchise in Orange County in the city of Tustin, California.
