Star Wars: The Ancient Republic is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed and created by Bioware and LucasArts, which serves as a reimagining of the popular Star Wars series. The game is informally referred to as the Ancient Republic. The game was released digitally worldwide on 1 January 2015 and had 3 million subscribers within three days of its launch, making it the world's "fastest-growing MMO ever". Heart of Darkness was announced as the game's first expansion pack on 14 March 2015.

The Republic

Swordsman and Crusader are available for humans.

The kingdom's first line of defence, the Swordsman is a brutal adversary and a powerful ally, employing medium heavy armour and heavy armour for protection and a wide array of weapons for attacks. The Swordsman relies on Power as a primary resource, and possesses four talents: Mastery, Tactical, Crazed, and Defence.

Monk and Zealot are available for humans.

Spiritual and pious, the Monk is a devout believer in the Faith and a Warrior of the Light, employing both light and medium armour for protection and uses staffs and fist weapons for attack. The Monk relies on Zeal as a primary resource, and possesses four talents: Disillusioned, Shadow-Walker, Divinity, and Piety.

Wood Elf and Grand Elf are available for elves.

Enigmatic and attuned, the Wood Elf is a master of the bow and arrow and a swift and deceptive foe, employing heavy medium armour for protection and uses bows and crossbows for attack. The Wood Elf relies on Focus as a primary resource, and possesses four talents: Hunting, Ranger, Stalker, and Marksman.

Dwarf and Battle Dwarf are available for dwarves.

Tough as stone, the Dwarf is a resilient and stout defender, employing heavy armour for protection and uses a wide array of weapons for attack. The Dwarf relies on Resolve as a primary resource, and possesses four talents: Defender, Resilience, Endurance, and Warmaster.

Mage and Arch Mage are available for humans, but restricted to the Bracaduun faction.

Knowledgeable in magic and wizardry, the Mage is a wielder of mystical energies and conjuring prowess, employing light armour for protection and uses staffs for attack. The Mage relies on Affinity as a primary resource, and possesses four talents: Windspeaker, Waterspeaker, Arcane, and Affliction.

The Sith Empire

Skeleton and Skeleton Warrior are available for undeads.

Risen from the dead, the Skeleton is a tireless soldier even in death and possesses remarkable fighting skills, employing heavy medium armour and heavy armour for protection and a wide array of weapons for attack. The Skeleton relies on Suffering as a primary resource, and possesses four talents: Laceration, Trauma, Cursed, and Undying.

Lich and Power Lich are available for undeads.

Necromancers and masters of dark magic, the Lich is a dread wielder of black magic and a nightmare in the minds of the living, employing light armour for protection and staffs for attack. The Lich relies on Misery as a primary resource, and possesses four talents: Darkcaster, Summoner, Poisoner, and Necromancy.

Black Knight and Death Knight are available to undeads and humans.

Black as the night itself, the Black Knight is the personification of the evil dead, ruthless and cold, employing heavy armour for protection and a wide array of weapons for attack. The Black Knight relies on Dying as a primary resource, and possesses four talents: Death, Deranged, Undeath, and Unrelenting.
