"We made this one up" refers to links in various articles - usually of the humorous variety - that reference the "We made this one up" article in Wikipedia, that, before today (6/27/2014) did not exist. Cracked.com is particularly notorious for its usage, but other humor sites are as well. I am fully aware that it needs citing, and although I have tried to cite the article in which Cracked links to Wikipedia's disambiguation page, "We made this one up," it has proven quite difficult to find, even though I read it not just a few hours ago.

Still, Cracked - and other humor sites - do link to the page from time to time, and I thought it was high time, and only fair to give audiences an actual page that actually linked to something other than an anonymous, uninformative, disambiguation page.

"We made this one up" is a joking attempt, generally, to add more "valid" sources to an article that is already rife with bizarre material, generally speaking. Wikipedia's "We made this one up" page neither confirms nor denies any claim to . . . anything, only cross-referencing the link that humor sites inevitably link to this page.

Further citations forthcoming.
