Lan Di
Lan Di (Souryu) is the man who killed Iwao Hazuki at the beginning of the Sega Dreamcast game Shenmue in revenge for the death of Zhao Sun Ming. He also took a precious stone mirror engraved with a dragon design, this mirror is called the Dragon mirror . He is one of the four high ranking members of the Chinese criminal syndicate known as the Chi You Men. Lan Di is also known for his coercive glare which keeps people at a distance. Lan Di is master of a legendary Chinese martial art known as Tiger Swallow Style.
Not much is known about Lan Di beyond the point that he is not a good person. He's mainly remembered for his long silk robe and cold glare. He is a person that you would only want to pick a fight with if you wanted to throw your life away.
The Chase
Ryo Hazuki the main character of Shenmue has taken upon himself to find out why Lan Di took the Dragon Mirror and the exact truth behind his father's death. He begins a quest to find out answers, and to figure out who Lan Di really is. As the story moves on from Shenmue to Shenmue II Ryo finds that he is always one step behind Lan Di. This is usually shown by having Ryo see Lan Di and then have to fight someone which after the fight is done Lan is always gone or has gotten on to a helicopter etc etc.
