Kass Morgan is the author of the epic sci-fi series,The 100, which inspired The CW TV series by the same name.
Biography
Early life
Kass Morgan was born in Brooklyn, New York City. She is the daughter of Sam Henry Kass and Marcia Bloom and has a brother named Petey Kass. When she was ten, she moved from Brooklyn to Santa Monica, but came back for college. Kass studied English and History at Brown University and Literature at the University of Oxford.
The 100 series
When Kass Morgan ended University, she came back to New York and started working in publishing. At first she just edited novels, but later she decided to write a book. Kass is a big fan of science fiction and that was an inspiration for her book. She created an epic Sci-Fi, Futuristic, Young-Adult book The 100. It was published on September 3, 2013 and became a New York Times Bestseller. It has been translated into French, Dutch and Spanish, and will soon be translated into Russian.
The book became an inspiration for The CW TV series by the same name. On May 9, 2013 The CW Television Network ordered it as a series for the 2013–14 American television season. the 2013–14 American television season. Show premiered on March 19, 2014 and on May 8, 2014 was renewed for a second season.
Kass Morgan is currently working on the second book Day 21. The book will be released on September 16, 2014.
Other Works
After publishing The 100, Kass wrote a short story called Gossip Girl: It's the End of the World and I Love It and released it on September 24, 2013. Six months later on March 26, 2014 she posted an article in Huff Post Books named 11 Things You Learn When Your Book Is Turned Into A TV Show.
