Talk:X mark
X Ballot: which is it?
An x mark ... used to indicate the concept of negation ... as well as affirmation (for example in election ballot papers or in x marks the spot).
As I understand it, in some of the recent contested elections (Coleman v Franken, Minn Senate seat, 2008, for example) there was NO consistency in how an X in a ballot box was re-counted: some as negation, some as affirmation, almost at whim of the individual doing the recount. Souldn't there be some consistency on this? Naaman Brown (talk) 13:36, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Ok -- how about ATEX Ex marking (Capital E, minuscule x in hexagon) for hazardous locations? Disambiguation page needed? 81.210.38.130 (talk) 07:14, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
