The BSAS DC3/C47-65ARTP & -67RTP is a fixed wing aircraft produced and supported by Braddick Specialised Air Services International PTY Ltd of Pretoria, South Africa. The aircraft type is a turbine conversion to the original Douglas DC3 or C47 piston airframes. The conversion includes strengthening of the airframe centre section to increase the MAUW from 26,900 lbs to 29,000 lbs, installation of Pratt & Whitney PT6A-65AR, -67R or -67F gas turbine engines, lengthening of the airframe fuselage, as well as various other avionic, electronic and mechanical system upgrades.
The BSAS DC3/C47 Turbine aircraft is a hybrid of the Wonder Air and Schafer turbine DC3/C47's developed in the late 80's and early 90's in the USA and South Africa.
