locate is linux command that creates and index of all files in seconds unlike heavy full desktop search engines that take hours there is windwos equallent called locate32 it far superior metoh of searching files by filename in terms of speed when you dont what to leave find files runing for a while i cant belive that somthing so simple isnt included in windows... locate verus desktop search engines really needs to be coverd windows does not have anything like it included. the only other program i know of that indexes so fast is ava find it isnt coverd in desktop search engines
