Newshold SGPS is a Luso-Angolan family business company and media group, owned by Pineview Overseas, a Panama-based offshore company, whose shareholders are powerful Angolan figures including tycoon Alvaro Sobrinho, who represents the Madalena family in this group. The company is based in Lisbon.[1]

Newshold controls Sol, Portugal's third largest weekly, fully owns daily newspaper i and owns stakes in two leading magazines, Visâo and Expresso, as well as Correio da Manhã, the largest-circulation Lisbon tabloid and the business paper Jornal de Negócios, through a 12,21 stake in Cofina media group. It has also expressed interest in case the Portuguese government eventually decides to privatize the public service broadcaster Rádio e Televisão de Portugal.[2]
