Tsai Capital Corporation is a New York-based investment manager.[1][2][3][4][5] The company was founded by Christopher Tsai in 1997 when he was 22 years old.[6][7][8] Tsai is the son of the late American financier Gerald Tsai.[9][10][11]
Tsai Capital focuses on high-quality, growth companies that have significant upside potential and a margin of safety at the time of purchase.[12] The firm prefers to invest in multinational, growth companies that have exposure to emerging markets.[13] Through its early-stage and seed-stage venture capital division, Tsai Ventures, the company also invests its proprietary capital in private companies.[14][15]
The firm's value-oriented, investment strategy is based upon extensive research into the business operations and balance sheets of prospective investments.[16][17] Tsai Capital takes a long-term approach to its core holdings.[18][19][20]
In July 2013, Tsai Capital appointed a portfolio manager, formerly with Soros Fund Management, to its advisory committee.[21]
