Far Lands or Bust (abbreviated FLOB) is an online video series created by KurtJMac (Kurt) in which he plays the popular indie video game Minecraft. In the series he is on a journey to the Minecraft "Far Lands", a distant area of a Minecraft map in which the terrain generation does not function correctly and the game begins to break down.[1][2] Undertaking this journey in perfect conditions would take approximately 820 hours, however due to the games' randomly generated terrain and the episodic nature of the series, as of January 2014 Kurt has travelled for almost 3 years and is expected to take another 22 years to reach his destination.[3] The episodes typically act as a sort of podcast, with Kurt discussing recent events in his life, news and science, and the show also encourages viewers to donate to Child's Play charity in order to reach a fundraising goal.[3] As of July 2014[update] the show has raised over $180,000.[4]
History
Minecraft Adventures was the original name of the series. It was not until episode 11 that he started to walk to the Far Lands, and starting from episode 31 the series was renamed Far Lands or Bust.
