Binny and the Ghost (Original title: Binny und der Geist) is a German television series, that is produced by UFA Fiction on behalf of Disney Channel's GSA.[1] The idea for the series came from Steffi Ackermann and the author Vivien Hoppe.[2] The broadcast of the pilot episode consequence took place as a preview on the Disney Channel Germany, on March 23rd, 2013.[3] The regular broadcast in Germany is provided as of October 26st, 2014.[4]

Plot

The 13-year-old Binny pulls reluctantly with her parents Wanda and Ronald of Hamburg in an old villa in Berlin-Pankow and there it finds that they have to share her room with an unwanted roommate: The 1899 born, but only 14 years old spirit Melchior , Melchior does not fit as in life, the Binny has featured in their new home Berlin. To get rid of Melchior, there is apparently only one solution: Binny must help him solve crimes and other small injustices, thus Melchior is freed from the ghosts existence. The "WG Reluctant" is the brilliant investigative team that solves a lot of exciting events - and friends who together have more fun than they ever imagined, let alone would voluntarily admit each other. Incidentally, the two try to find out more about Melchior's past and discover a big secret. And then also still takes the dubious Hubertus van Horas, with his assistant Bodo, Melchior track on.

On September 4, 2014, two books about the series written by Mark Stichler was released in Germany.[5] [6] On March 5, 2015 two more books are published in Germany for the series by the same author and publisher.[7][8]

The broadcast of the pilot episode consequence took place as a preview on the Disney Channel Germany, on March 23rd, 2013.[3] Due to the success of the pilot, a complete first season with 13 episodes was ordered. [2] The regular broadcast in Germany is provided as of October 26st, 2014.[4]
