George H. Sweigert, is widely credited as the first inventor to hold a patent for theinvention cordless phone. Born in Akron, Ohio in February of 1920, Mr. Sweigert served in the US Army as a radio operator in World War II, inspiring his invention of the radio telephone.

He is widely credited for invention of the cordless phone along side Alexander Graham Bell for the invention of the telephone and Amos Edward Joel for the invention of the cellular phone.
