Dr Maral Yazarloo is a Iranian fashion designer who currently lives in India.

Early life and education

Yazarloo spent her childhood in small town called Kelarabad in the north of Iran. While she was in school, she had a myriad of hobbies and activities, including yoga, meditation, playing the ‘tar’ (a stringed long-necked Persian instrument), swimming, volleyball, water skiing, karate, Painting and travelling. [1]

She moved to India in 2004 to pursue her MBA which she followed by a PhD in Marketing.

Career

She started designing clothes and jewelry and launched her brand, 'MAYA - made of dreams' in 2013 in Paris, followed by Rome and India, with subsequent plans for Dubai in the near future.[2] [3]

The different facets of Maral influence the distinct lines under brand Maral Yazarloo. The artist in her brings the colours and textures of her designs. The traveler in her gives a distinct perspective of culture and influences her resort and fusion wear. That is a strong point for her as she maintains the balance between modernity and culture. Her corporate career contributes to the office and formal wear. Being a biker herself, she also has a line of fashion biking wear.

She is the Head Retail - Marketing of India’s leading realty developer, Panchshil Realty for last 8years. [4]

Personal Life

Biking is one of her biggest passions and as on Dec 2014[5], she has the highest mileage on road in India as a female Harley rider[6], having crossed the fifty five thousand kilometre mark[7] in a very short time and only female Harley rider to attend the international HOG ride to Bhutan and apparently one of the HOG officer of Pune Chapter.[8] Besides balancing her corporate career and biking, she is an accomplished painter and has had five exhibitions showcasing her artwork on ceramic and canvas.
