Lauren Ashley Zakrin is an American musical theater actress. She was first known as a finalist on MTV's Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods.[1] After the show, she became an understudy for Elle Woods on the Legally Blonde tour, and covered the role of Elle with Laura Bell Bundy while Becky Gulsvig was unable to perform.[2] Later, she replaced Emily Padgett and starred as Sandy in on the tour of Grease in October 2009.[3][4] She recently finished a run in the ensemble and as the understudy for Glinda on the first national tour of Wicked.[5] During the summer of 2011 Zakrin performed as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical at The Muny Theater in St. Louis Missouri. She was then seen starring as Brooke in the Las Vegas production of the brand new Beach Boys musical Surf. The show played at Planet Hollywood and was directed by Rock of Ages Tony Nominee Kristin Hanggi. Her most recent production was Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 off Broadway understudying the roles of Natasha and Sonya. Recently she stars in the Kloons' YouTube video "Tit for Tat" where they investigate the deep chasm between men and women.[6]
