The Ministry of Finance (Portuguese: Ministério da Fazenda) of Brazil was created in 1808 with the title Secretaria de Estado dos Negócios do Brasil e da Fazenda. The ministry is responsible for formulating and implementing the country's economic policy. Joaquim Levy is the current Minister of Finance as of January 1st, 2015, when he took office during the presidential inauguration of Dilma Rousseff's second term[1].
