Trisha Broadbridge is a member of the Reach Foundation, an Australian organisation that promotes youth self-esteem. Trisha founded the Reach Broadbridge Fund in 2005, after the loss of husband Troy Broadbridge, a professional Australian Rules Football player, in the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, which exists to provide for young Australians and Indonesians. Trisha, with help from Troy's teammates from the Melbourne Football Club returned to Phi Phi Island, where the couple were when the tsunami struck, to rebuild the Broadbridge Education Centre for children. In 2005, her book titled Beyond the Wave, about her life prior to, during and after the Tsunami, was published to wide acclaim. Trisha is the 2006 recipient of the Young Australian of the Year Award. Trisha is currently a contestant on Channel 9 Australia's Dancing on Ice.
