Request for permissions archives |
Please read the guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by its terms.
Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
Please add your name to the bottom of the appropriate list (user or bot) on this page below using *
. Enter your user name exactly as the software displays it, for example in the 'Basic information' section of your preferences. Do not use underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter. Note that all usernames begin with an uppercase letter or a symbol.

If the list contains undecided entries that are over 48 hours old, please change
to {{noadminbacklog}}
at the top of this page.
{{adminbacklog}}
Note that users with under 500 mainspace non-automated edits are rarely approved. You can check your contributions in each namespace at Tool Labs. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace non-automated edits. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to list themselves.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for the purpose.

- KU (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) I would like to use AWB for creating and fixing more articles, especially on Japanese educational stuff. Thank you. 17:30, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- Question You only have 475 edits in the article namespace instead of the required 500. For what do you want to use AWB? Armbrust The Homunculus 13:28, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

- Question You only have 193 edits in the article namespace instead of the required 500. For what do you want to use AWB? Armbrust The Homunculus 13:28, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- I think this software is the useful tool for editing articles. How much experience is needed to use it? Hananeh.M.h (talk) 05:39, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- The experience I look for proves that you can write English using correct grammar and syntax, that you know how to use Wiki markup, you know some Wikipedia policy, that you can communicate using talk, and that there are not too many complaints about you. I look for about 400 non-automated edits that add or improve content. If you do large contributions using less edits then that could prove competence also, but the instructions ask for a specific reason. That is what do you intend to do with the tool! - Tetra quark (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) 19:05, 10 January 2015 (UTC) I will be glad to use this
- Since you have under 500 main space edits you should be giving a reason to use this. Also can you please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Layout#See also section as there is something here you need to know. The amount of pleasure you will have from the tool is not a reason I will consider, but please say what you will do with it! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:58, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Graeme Bartlett: I didn't know I haven't reached 500 yet. I saw that I had more than 1000 edits, but they weren't all on articles maybe. I checked the link next to my username and it seems that I have 467 unique edits. That is close enough, right? The reason I want to use this software is that I could edit much more and in an easier way. I downloaded the software and it looks good, I'd like to use it. I guess that's it. If you see my contribs you will known I don't have bad intentions.Tetra quark (don't be shy) 01:29, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- The test is partly to see if you can follow instructions. Normally those that don't obey the instructions above will fail to get the permission. I am really looking for a more specific reason than edit in a easier way, something more like add nav box to galaxy articles is what I am looking for. What would be the first job you would use it for? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:53, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Graeme Bartlett: Well, I still don't have an idea. I downloaded the software but I still don't know how to use it, so I'm not sure about what it can do. The reason I want access is simply because it appears to make editing simpler, just like Twinkle did. Also, in not much time I will have the 500 edits necessary anyway (I have 467 if I'm not mistaken), so... ayes, I just wanna see what that software can do. Tetra quark (don't be shy) 00:12, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Comment User has now 506 main namespace edits. Armbrust The Homunculus 15:50, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Armbrust: Yes, now I meet the criteria. So, care to register me? Tetra quark (don't be shy) 16:00, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

- What would you like to do with AWB? Mostly I see reverts and removals. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:27, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
- Mostly to explore it. Most of what I've done on Wikipedia is reverting vandalism and answering semi-protected edit requests, I'm interested in broadening my scope and AWB looks like a useful tool to get into making small corrections. Cannolis (talk) 07:14, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
