Transactions of the American Philological Association (‘’TAPA’’) is an academic journal founded in 1869 and the official publication of the American Philological Association. It uses a wide range of approaches to explore pertinent issues in the history, culture, and language of ancient Greek and Roman societies. Authors use both traditional and innovative methods of critical inquiry in order to develop illuminating critical insights. Each issue contains a section devoted to responses to essays in previous editions. The editor is Dr. Paul Allen Miller of the University of South Carolina.

The journal is published twice each year in May and November. Circulation is 2,892 and the average length of an issue is 224 pages.
