Voat /ˈvt/ is an entertainment, social networking service and news website where registered community members can submit content, such as text posts or direct links. Registered users can then vote submissions "up" or "down". Content entries are organized by areas of interest called "sub-universes".

Voat was founded by two Computer Science and Economics students from the University of Zurich[1]. Voat is based in Switzerland, and uses the Colombian top level domain of ".co.

Overview

Site

The site is functionally similar to Reddit in that it is a collection of entries submitted by its registered users, essentially a bulletin board system.

The site's content is divided into numerous categories called sub universes (a.k.a "subs") which can be further grouped by users into "sets".
